This 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module is an IPS TFT-LCD with a resolution of 80x160 pixels. This 0.96-inch mini TFT LCD features a portrait-oriented IPS panel. Despite its compact size, its high resolution and moderate brightness of 400cd/m² ensure high-quality image reproduction from any viewing angle. The TFT module integrates an ST7735S controller chip and supports a 4-wire SPI interface, making it compatible with a wide range of platforms including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and LVGL.

In terms of structure, this 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module comes with an easy-to-insert FPC, allowing users to plug it directly into a development board with a connector or solder it directly to a driver board. We support customization of the cover glass, enabling users to tailor its shape, dimensions, silkscreen pattern, color, and surface treatment (e.g., AR/AF/AG) according to their intended product application. We also offer custom FPC and communication interfaces.

This model does not include a driver. The development board allows developers to customize and develop according to their own needs. Within the same product family, we also offer a 10-pin model, . Lacking experience? No problem! Within the same product family, we also offer a UART smart display equipped with an EZUI driver board for easy operation. Click the link HTM-H010A1-UART-A01 to learn more about this module. We also provide reference materials for the EzUI development software.

This 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module is ideally suited for applications such as wearable devices, medical equipment, and small household appliances. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, and its storage temperature range is -30°C to +80°C. This industrial-grade display is stable and reliable, and all products are RoHS compliant.

Why do small displays like 0.96-Inch TFT LCD modules still use IPS panels?

Many people mistakenly believe that "the screen is small, so a slight difference in viewing angle won't be noticeable," but this is actually a key scenario where IPS panels demonstrate their value.

Practical use cases for wearable devices: When users wear devices like smartwatches, bracelets, or rings, the screen isn't always directly in front of their eyes. The full viewing angle of IPS panels (typically over 80°) ensures that image color and contrast remain authentic when the user looks at the screen from the side, swings their arm naturally, or the screen is slightly tilted. With ordinary TN panels, even a slight angle can result in a negative image or severe color cast.

Enhancing the user experience: For status displays on medical devices or micro-home appliances, operators may view data from different angles. IPS panels ensure that values and icons are clearly visible from any direction, without requiring conscious posture adjustments. Therefore, the use of IPS in this 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module is not an "over-configuration," but rather a practical choice for portable and interactive scenarios.

What specific impact does the four-wire SPI interface have on the development convenience of the 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module?

The four-wire SPI interface is the core reason why this 0.96-Inch TFT LCD Module is widely compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and LVGL.

Fewer pins, saving master control resources: Compared to RGB or MCU parallel interfaces (requiring 16-18 pins), the four-wire SPI (CS, DC, SDA, SCL), plus power and ground, only requires 6 pins in total. This is very friendly to microcontrollers with limited pin resources (such as ATmega328P, ESP8266, and small STM32 models), allowing more GPIOs to be reserved for sensors, buttons, or wireless modules.

Drive efficiency and refresh rate: Although the theoretical speed of SPI is lower than that of parallel interfaces, for a resolution of 80x160 pixels, the SPI interface of the ST7735S controller is sufficient to support smooth dynamic interfaces (such as simple animations and menu switching). GUI libraries like LVGL, with their optimized SPI drivers, can achieve decent frame rates on this module.

Low development barrier: Almost all embedded display driver libraries natively support the ST7735S's SPI mode. Developers typically only need to connect the wires and call readily available initialization functions to light up the screen.
